the-what-is-plastics-series-polyethylene-terephthalate-pet
Not all plastics are the same, in fact, there are hundreds of different kinds of plastic. There are seven different categories of plastic: PET, HDPE, PVC, LDPE, PP, PS and the catch-all Other. Each plastic type has what we call a resin identification code on it. (Resin is just another word for “type-of-plastic.”)

PET is short for polyethylene terephthalate (one type of “resin”) and is ideal for beverages, liquid, fluids, lotions, shampoos, personal care products … and a whole lot more. To satiate the chemist within, here’s some more techy information on PET.

The real news is that there’s so much cool stuff to know about plastic that we’ve decided to make a video for each one! Below I’ve embedded our “What is PET?” video for your viewing and educational pleasure. Sit back, grab some popcorn and enjoy the show.

See more of our videos here at www.containerandpackaging.com/videos
