Plastic Poetry: Ode to PET
plastic-poetry-ode-pet<p>Here at Container & Packaging Supply we are constantly on the cutting edge of technological… stuff. But sometimes we just need to take a break from all the sciency-stuff, and indulge our inner artistic sensibilities. I’ve decided to do this through poetry. I’ll be writing a series of seven poems, written specifically for each of the plastic types: PET, HDPE, PVC, LDPE, PP, PS, and Other. This one is for polyethylene terephthalate, or<a href=https://www.containerandpackaging.com/catalog/plastic-bottles/7/?m=PET#1,0&0&0&0&0&PET&0&7&0&8&list&0&0,1> PET</a> as it’s more commonly known. If you want to know more about PET, you can always watch our resin <a href=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29Az-dPwtg8>video about PET</a>.</p> <h2>Ode to PET</h2> <p>Where does one <a href=https://www.containerandpackaging.com/>begin</a>?<br /> Lets start with number one.<br /> thy thermoplastic polymer,<br /> shows clearly or opaque.<br /> When I think about your uses,<br /> my mind can never blank.</p> <p>Your repute in durability,<br /> takes impacts lightly.<br /> Your moisture impermeability,<br /> makes leakage unlikely.<br /> Your flexible usability,<br /> appeals to all so broadly.</p> <p>Now if you have your faults,<br /> they appear to me so faint.<br /> You work with oh so many closures,<br /> that keep your contents in restraint.<br /> So if you have a fault,<br /> I can offer no complaint.</p> <p>Translation for all you poetry-haters out there:<br /> PET is a high clarity, lightweight, durable, impermeable thermoplastic polymer that can also be colored or made opaque that can be used in a wide variety of applications that can be colored or clear marked with the number 1.</p>
