Percy Capson and The Liner Thief didn’t get a sequel either

percy-capson-and-the-liner-thief-didnt-get-a-sequel-either<p><i>Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief</i> is the first in a popular young adult fiction series by Rick Riordan. Obviously intended for young readers, the storyline is however, quite good, and the plot and character development sufficient to keep an older reader going to finish the series, which I did (gold star for me).</p> <p>Synopsis: Percy discovers that his absent father actually has a pretty good excuse when he realizes his father is Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea. Percy begins his quest of self-discovery as a demi-god by helping to hunt down the thief of his Uncle Zeus&#8217;s famed lightning bolt.</p> <p>The screen adaptation, like most, was hoping to garner enough popularity to generate a series of films and revenues. Unfortunately the film evidently did not rake in enough to merit a sequel &#8230; and I&#8217;m assuming there won&#8217;t be a sequel since the adventures of book-Percy occupy the range of his high school years, and our film-Percy is now pushing 22 years old.</p> <p>Our film <i>Percy Capson and the Liner Thief</i>, however, was a much bigger hit &#8230; at least to those who knew about it.</p> <p>Percy Capson was played by our very own director of sales, Bob. Who, like Percy, embarked on a quest for cap liners: F217, pressure sensitive, heat induction liners, etc. For the promotional poster for our film, we got together a couple of light sources, sequestered ourselves in a windowless room (coincidentally, the same room we used to shoot <a href=http://blog.containerandpackaging.com/2012/04/wcwyb-stephen-ghost-hunter.html target=_blank rel=noopener>Stephen&#8217;s ghost hunt photo</a>), and started snapping. We ended up with this masterpiece:</p> <div><a href=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZuiYTckiOs4/T6sJkAQcgbI/AAAAAAAAAks/XA-nrMxrWGM/s1600/bob.jpg><img src=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZuiYTckiOs4/T6sJkAQcgbI/AAAAAAAAAks/XA-nrMxrWGM/s320/bob.jpg alt= width=198 height=320 border=0 /></a></div> <p>Bob is currently holding a massive drum/barrel lid (liners don&#8217;t REALLY come in that size), and then I snapped this photo of a &#8220;sealed for your protection&#8221; pressure sensitive liner.</p> <div><a href=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eWQtTWIv7j0/T6sJ5kpV4SI/AAAAAAAAAk0/e1RfL_1tGCA/s1600/liner.jpg><img src=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-eWQtTWIv7j0/T6sJ5kpV4SI/AAAAAAAAAk0/e1RfL_1tGCA/s1600/liner.jpg alt= border=0 /></a></div> <p>I took the drum lid out of Bob&#8217;s hand and Photoshopped the liner into it. Resulting in this:</p> <div><a href=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oVF7s9NThb4/T6sLU6u4TbI/AAAAAAAAAk8/PJ-CdDZZz0A/s1600/01.jpg><img src=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-oVF7s9NThb4/T6sLU6u4TbI/AAAAAAAAAk8/PJ-CdDZZz0A/s320/01.jpg alt= width=320 height=240 border=0 /></a></div> <p>I then added some turbulent water,</p> <div><a href=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NyHYuAO-Ag8/T6sLbsFtCNI/AAAAAAAAAlE/nfwTe5vwz_I/s1600/02.jpg><img src=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-NyHYuAO-Ag8/T6sLbsFtCNI/AAAAAAAAAlE/nfwTe5vwz_I/s320/02.jpg alt= width=320 height=240 border=0 /></a></div> <p>and a skyline of New York (I think), some pretty scary clouds and a big lightning bolt arcing off of the liner of terror in Bob&#8217;s hand.</p> <div><a href=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dXGR2dDKlc8/T6sLmnD8KkI/AAAAAAAAAlM/LbWsWBuKRZo/s1600/03.jpg><img src=http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-dXGR2dDKlc8/T6sLmnD8KkI/AAAAAAAAAlM/LbWsWBuKRZo/s320/03.jpg alt= width=320 height=240 border=0 /></a></div> <p>I added a few splashes to blend Bob in (you didn&#8217;t think we ACTUALLY had Bob stand in the ocean did you?) &#8230;</p> <div><a href=http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lv42KI4NXi4/T6sLzgrWChI/AAAAAAAAAlU/A9YPiyKZyHc/s1600/04.jpg><img src=http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Lv42KI4NXi4/T6sLzgrWChI/AAAAAAAAAlU/A9YPiyKZyHc/s320/04.jpg alt= width=320 height=240 border=0 /></a></div> <p>&#8230; and then I added the final touches of film title and rating information. Resulting in a final image that does not differ too significantly from the original movie poster.</p> <p><a href=http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ScxAYSVQUyo/T6sMVdwGjWI/AAAAAAAAAlc/fYgrr8GGAew/s1600/percy.jpg><img src=http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ScxAYSVQUyo/T6sMVdwGjWI/AAAAAAAAAlc/fYgrr8GGAew/s320/percy.jpg alt= width=320 height=240 border=0 /></a><br /> Source: http://tondog21.gamerdna.com</p> <p>Presenting the final movie poster of <i>Percy Capson and the Liner Thief</i>:<br /> <a href=https://www.containerandpackaging.com/wallpaper/2012/1600x1200_linerthief.jpg><img src=https://www.containerandpackaging.com/wallpaper/2012/1600x1200_linerthief.jpg alt= width=600 height=450 border=0 /></a></p> <p>Visit <a href=https://www.containerandpackaging.com/wallpaper>www.containerandpackaging.com/wallpaper</a> to see ALL 12 of this year&#8217;s calendar images as well as images from 2011, 2010, and 2009.</p>
