Part 4: Plastic Buckets and More

part-4-plastic-buckets
Ok, so now you're well supplied with your plastic buckets, gamma seal lids, glass mason jars with plastisol lined lids, and of course a good amount of food and water saved. The last thing you'll need is every other necessity.

So let's look at likely scenarios again; power lines go down, or there is a blackout. Or a horde of radioactive zombies has taken over the local power station. You need heat, and you need light. That's where plastic pails and buckets come in to play again. The EZ stor's are great examples of a watertight pail you can use to store emergency blankets, flashlights, batteries, propane stoves and lamps, propane tanks, matches or lighters and really anything else that you may need should your electricity go out.

Why not keep all this stuff in one place and in a safe container? Hopefully you'll never need it. But I'm sure just about everyone can recall a time in their life where the power went out. For me it was once the middle of February and no one knew when the heat would come back on again.

You may not know when you'll need it but it's always better to be prepared than to be found wanting. Being prepared is more than just the motto of the Boy Scouts of America. It's a way of life. Protecting your preparations can make a difference in the quality of life those under your roof can have. From losing a job, to dealing with a power outage, or water shortage, to hiding from alien invaders while they easily conquer the world, there will be a time where having an ample supply of your basic needs will be invaluable.

Check out more food and water storage options
