Monty Python and the Holy Pail, a parody of parody

monty-python-and-the-holy-pail-a-parody-of-parody
The movie Monty Python and the Holy Grail is awful. It is an irreverent sacrilegious representation of the classic and inspiring Arthurian legends. The special effects are poor. The budget is nonexistent. The acting is over the top. The sets lack luster. The plot is weak. The humor is juvenile. The production quality is low. The makeup is one-dimensional (think dirt). It is, perhaps, one of the worst B-grade films to have ever been produced.

It’s one of my favorite movies.

Who can forget the infamous Black Knight’s duty to preventing travelers from crossing the bridge that spans a 2 foot stream, and his subsequent dismemberment at the sword of Arthur?

Who can forget the brave brave brave Sir Robin and his ill-fated traveling band of minstrels that were eaten to stave off hunger (and there was much rejoicing)?

Who can forget the berserk Lancelot and his wake of destruction during a wedding feast to save the imprisoned opera-singer-aspiring-prince from an arranged marriage?

Who can forget the omnipresent old woman and her unfortunate cat?

Or Dennis and his diatribe on oppressive governments and the farcical assumption of a divinely appointed ruling class?

Or Tim the sorcerer and his impressive demonstrations of raw explosive power?

Or the silly knights of Camelot?

Or the large wooden badger?

Or the witch trial?

Or the shrubbery?

Or the bunny?

Truly this film is 91 minutes of excellent historical satire, irony, parody, and comedy. Which is exactly why we decided to parody the parody.

Monty Python and the Holy Pail features 6 of our CPS team members in a lovely yellow 5 gallon pail carried by the hand of God through the sky … and yes, one of them is eating a massive turkey leg.

Visit www.containerandpackaging.com/wallpaper to see ALL 12 of this year’s calendar images as well as images from 2011, 2010, and 2009.
