The CPS Bottle Band presents carol, “Deck The Halls”

deck_the_halls<p>We love Christmastime and the holiday season! And we love you! And we just must express our appreciation. So, we created this tribute, featuring our products and our people here at Container &amp;amp; Packaging Supply. The CPS Bottle Band presents a classic holiday carol, <i>Deck The Halls (with bottles).</i></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><iframe src=//www.youtube.com/embed/Yb-NqcPfWpg width=600 height=338 frameborder=0 allowfullscreen=allowfullscreen></iframe></p> <p><i><br /> Deck The Halls (with bottles) </i>was a really fun project. I flew off to my Batcave and<i> </i>wrote this arrangement with my music notation software. Once I was pleased with my rudimentary (though effective) arrangement, Ty Petersen (director of marketing and bass with the red shirt) and I spent a couple of hours pulling together various glass bottles and filling/emptying them with water to get the correct pitches. Yes, we did get a lot of strange looks from passerby &#8230; but for the most part, they&#8217;re used to the weird things Ty and I do.</p> <p>Using a guitar tuner and a pitch pipe on my iPhone, we were able to get our chorus of bottles set.</p> <p>Next, we gathered a bunch of folks from the office and held auditions. Playing the bottle is not easy! It requires excellent breath support (particularly for the bass pitches), a firm embouchure (pucker), and intensive concentration (which is why none of us look overly joyous &#8230; this was game face time!)</p> <p>We video/audio recorded each person and their pitch (with several takes) and sent them on their merry way. I uploaded all of our footage to my video editing program and got to work. The final product is a highly edited series of concurrently played videos. The sounds, the people, the faces are all real.</p> <p>The most amazing thing about this project was discovering that not only do we sell beautiful, durable, quality glass bottles, but they&#8217;re talented too.
