Amber Boston: Container & Packaging Spy, Part 1

amber-boston-container-packaging-spy-part-1
Part 1: Amber Boston, Container and Packaging Spy

There I was, strapped to a pallet in the back of the warehouse as Container & Packaging Supply thugs circled around. I struggled against the packing tape cutting into my wrists and tried to spit the wadded-up work glove out of my mouth, but I was thoroughly trapped this time.

Let's load her on the forklift, see how she handles that, the one with the big bushy beard said. He grinned down at me. That one is Chris, I remembered from my briefing.

A blond woman, Stephanie, I think, shook her head. No way. Her training is too good for that. She worried me. She seemed to know what to do with people like me. Had she been the one who caused the other agents to disappear? Let's pack her in with that shipment of cosmos that's going out this afternoon.

The third person, a wiry man with thick glasses, stepped up. Rory, I thought. Both of you know the protocol, he said. We wait for Jim this time.

If I hadn’t had the gag in my mouth, I might have screamed, but instead I let out a muffled gurgling noise. Jim was coming. The head honcho of Container & Packaging Supply. There was no way I was going to make it out of this mess.

* * *

How did a sweet girl like me end up trapped in a warehouse full of containers? I'll take you back to the beginning.

My name is Amber Boston. I am a spy. Not your average, every-day, gun-toting-martini-stirring spy, but a container spy. Yep, that's right, I try to discover all of the secrets within the container industry. My employers want to know all that there is in this line of work, and so they trained me to seek out the interesting, unusual, and covert secrets of Container & Packaging Supply. I even have a cover job as a blog writer (because seriously, who ISN’T a blog writer these days?). I write blog articles by day under the pseudo name Rachel Hansen, and by night I try to figure out what is so incredibly special about Container & Packaging Supply. I'm called a Container & Packaging Spy, or a CPS. The cover works great, since the company's initials are also CPS.

You're probably still wondering why a bunch of Container & Packaging Supply employees are after me, so let's get down to the real story.
